What started as a vision to empower communities has grown into a movement. HeroWorks was founded with the belief that everyone deserves the tools to act confidently in times of need. Through Jason Funaro’s leadership and dedication, HeroWorks continues to make a lasting impact by training individuals and organizations to step up when it matters most.

HeroWorks was built on a simple truth. Everyday people are capable of extraordinary courage when they are prepared, and courageous preparation cultivates resilience that endures.
At its core, this work has always been about people. It is about moms and dads who want to protect their families. Educators who feel the weight of responsibility for their students. Community members who quietly give what they can because they believe in something bigger than themselves. It is about the 16 year old who donates a hundred dollars to help launch this nonprofit, not for recognition, but because it matters. These are the everyday heroes. The ones who do not seek headlines, medals, or applause. They act because it is the right thing to do.
We exist to honor that spirit by equipping it. HeroWorks prepares individuals and organizations not only to respond effectively in crisis, but to build the mental, emotional, and communal resilience that carries them through what follows. Preparation strengthens courage. Courage reinforces resilience. And resilient individuals strengthen entire communities. When ordinary people choose to step forward with intention, something powerful happens. They do not simply endure difficult moments. They rise through them, together.

A group of smart, dedicated, and highly skilled individuals got together and decided that we needed to demand more for our citizenry. We saw a gap in realistic and relevant training going to the individuals who needed it most. So we bridged that gap. Life-saving interventions for churches, schools, and the first responders that are out there making our communities safer every day. It's about resilience. It's about empowerment. It's about taking it upon yourself to become a stronger and more mentally equipped individual capable of doing great things. It is from that passion that HeroWorks was born.
